Tempco Vinyl Window Products

As Tempco Products Co. enters the next 50 years in business, we recognize the need to continually improve to stay competitive in the Midwest marketplace. The origins of this basic philosophy began with the founder of Tempco Products Co. In 1945, Mervin J. Stillwell settled in Robinson, Illinois as a general contractor. His first venture in manufacturing facilitated the formation of Modern Building Specialties. The first products manufactured and distributed included Aluminum Awnings, Storm Windows and Storm Doors.

On December 13, 1957, the business was incorporated under the new name of Tempco Products Co. Mervin J. Stillwell remained President of the new company initiating a period of continuous growth. Numerous products have been developed and manufactured or distributed over the years. These products include: Aluminum Farm Gates, Boats, Dry Mix Concrete, Fishing Lures, Jim Martin Paint, Car Ports, Siding and Soffit, Aluminum Prime Windows, Caskets, Lexel-Fractional Motors and Vinyl Window and Window Products.

Upon Mervin J. Stillwell's death in 1976, his son Ron Stillwell succeeded as President of Tempco Products Co. He led the company in the transition into Vinyl Windows in 1983. After twenty years of service, nine as President, Ron Stillwell retired from Tempco Products Co. in 1985. Steve McGahey succeeded as President of Tempco Products Co., a position that he retains today. Under his direction the company has continued an aggressive program in sales, manufacturing and distribution of window and door products throughout the Midwest.
